Data Intelligence Engineer
Are you looking for a way to make a difference in the world? Join our journey and make a real impact together with fantastic colleagues, customers, and partners.
Data Intelligence Engineer
Are you driven by building intelligent data systems that shape the future—not just of technology, but of fairness itself?
Sysarb is looking for a Data Intelligence Engineer to architect the data foundation powering Europe's next generation of pay transparency and workplace equity.
This role is for someone who thrives where mathematics meets product. You turn complex ideas into elegant models, scalable pipelines, and actionable insights. You want your work to have real-world impact on millions of employees across Europe.
About Sysarb—Using Technology to Create Fair Workplaces Across Europe
Sysarb is a fast-growing, mission-led SaaS company based in Sweden. Our platform helps organizations comply with the EU Pay Transparency Directive and build fair, equitable compensation structures.
Trusted by companies like Polestar, Klarna, and Carlsberg, we blend advanced analytics, mathematical rigor, and strategic advisory into one unified product experience.
Our mission is simple and powerful:
Ensure workplaces across Europe become transparent, fair, and grounded in equal value for all people.
We move fast, think boldly, and build technology that drives real societal change.
The Role, Architect the Intelligence Layer of Sysarb's Platform
As our Data Intelligence Engineer, you will shape and own the core data foundation behind all insights, models, and automated decision flows in our platform.
This is not a traditional Data Engineering role.
This is a hybrid of:
ML Data Engineering
Applied Data Science & Mathematical Modelling
Product-Focused Insight Architecture
You will take ideas, statistical concepts, fairness models, predictive frameworks, and turn them into production-ready intelligence used by thousands of HR teams, managers, and employees.
You will set the technical direction for how Sysarb creates, structures, and operationalizes intelligence in the product.
You will report directly to senior leadership and be the expert voice guiding our data and insight strategy.
What You Will Lead and Build
1. Mathematical Models & ML Systems in Production
Design and implement:
Regression engines and decomposition methods (e.g., Oaxaca-Blinder)
Fairness-oriented and Compliance-oriented predictive models
Salary prediction, cost-to-close estimation, and insight scoring
Explainability layers for transparency and compliance
You turn math and theory into robust, scalable production systems.
2. Sysarb's Next-Generation Data Foundation
Architect and develop:
Scalable data models and schemas optimized for insight generation
End-to-end pipelines for clean, reliable, privacy-safe data
Foundations for how AI agents and LLMs will consume and generate insights
Data structures enabling high performance across countries, entities, and HRIS ecosystems
You define what "good data" means for Sysarb.
3. Insight Engines for AI-First Product Experiences
Design data structures and pipelines that support:
Automated analyses
Intelligent suggestions
Narrative explanations
Future agent-based workflows
You shape how customers experience intelligence in the product.
4. Technical Leadership Without Personnel Management
You are the senior expert who:
Sets standards, direction, and architectural patterns
Ensures mathematical and engineering rigor
Provides sharp, structured guidance to Engineering, Product, and Advisory
Helps Sysarb scale from a high-performing team to an intelligence-driven organization
You lead through expertise, clarity, and ownership.
Who You Are
You are a mathematically strong ML/Data Engineer who loves clarity, structure, and creating intelligence that others can build on. You thrive on pace, precision, and purpose.
You likely recognize yourself in this:
5+ years in ML engineering, applied data science, or data-intensive product development
Proven ability to take models from idea → prototype → production
Strong in Python and/or R; statistical modelling is second nature
Comfortable designing and deploying regression models, predictive models, and fairness frameworks
Experience with modern data pipelines, transformation tools, and scalable data modelling
Excellent understanding of data privacy, GDPR, and person-level data principles
Thrives in high-growth environments where ownership and autonomy matter
Communicates with clarity and can guide both technical and product peers
Bonus: experience in HR analytics, compensation modelling, or socio-economic datasets
Above all:
You build systems that turn raw data into understanding—and understanding into fairer outcomes.
What We Offer
A defining role shaping the intelligence and data foundation of a mission-driven SaaS platform
The chance to build technology that directly improves fairness and equality across Europe
A high-trust, high-speed, hybrid work environment
Freedom to influence stack decisions and architecture
